Safeguarding
Committed to creating a safe, caring and respectful environment for children, young people and adults at risk.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2

Our Commitment
The Churches of God are committed to creating safe, caring and respectful environments for children, young people and adults with care and support needs. We recognise the dignity and rights of every person and accept our responsibility to prevent harm, respond appropriately to concerns and promote wellbeing throughout all Church activities
- The Churches of God are committed to the safeguarding of children and adults with care and support needs and to ensuring their well-being.
- We recognise the personal dignity and rights of children and adults who have care and support needs and will ensure all our policies and procedures will reflect this.
- We recognise that we all have a responsibility to help to prevent the physical, sexual, psychological, financial and discriminatory abuse and neglect of adults at risk of harm and abuse, and to report any such abuse that we discover or suspect.
- We believe all adults should enjoy, and have access to, every aspect of the life of the Churches of God within a theological framework.
- Church activities aim to introduce children and adults to the teachings of the Bible and a personal faith based on those.
- We undertake to exercise proper care in the appointment and selection of those who will work with children and adults with care and support needs.
- We believe every child should be valued and safe. We want to make sure that children in our care know this and are empowered to tell us if they are experiencing significant harm.
- This Safeguarding Policy Statement and our Safeguarding Code of Conduct apply to all helpers and attendees at local church and activities, and to anyone carrying out any work for us.
